Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common rheumatic disease, affecting approximately 1.3 million people in the United States, according to current census data. The disease is three times more common in women as in men. It afflicts people of all races equally. The disease can begin at any age, but it most often starts after 40 years of age and before 60 years of age. In some families, multiple members can be affected, suggesting a genetic basis for the disorder. It is not easy living with RA, but there are medications and tips in regards to caring for the disease.

This type of arthritis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks the joints producing an inflammatory synovitis that often progresses to destruction of the articular cartilage and ankylosis of the joints. I started searching for a diabetic nutrition chart to help a friend. What I found were lots of books and special diets. It seems like the diet and fitness industry has gotten into the health care business.
