This is may be a warning for soda enthusiasts because a recent study says those who drank two or more softdrink containing sugar has the risk of pancreatic cancer. Although this is a rare cancers, but pancreatic cancer is one of deadly cancers.

Pereira said that high levels of sugar in soft drinks may increase the levels of insulin in the body that we believe led to the growth of cancer cells. Insulin, which helps the body regulate glucose, produced in the pancreas.

A total of 60,000 men and women respondents in Singapore become the sample of this research for 14 years. During this period, 140 respondents suffered from pancreatic cancer. Those who drank two cans or more softdrink every week has an 87 percent risk of higher pancreatic cancer.

Although conducted in a small country, Pereira said, the results of this study can be applied in other countries. He said that Singapore is a rich country with a good health system.
