People in all walks of life deal with the symptoms of depression everyday. This makes perfect sense if you think about. We’re all working harder now due to increased competition in the workplace. With the rising costs of living, some people are even getting second jobs to make ends meet. Because of this increased pressure, we are all stressed and anxious. So what are some ways to deal with this stress? We can’t give our jobs or the bills won’t get paid! Well, one way to help alleviate some of the pain in your life is to practice Yoga.

Now before you go running for the hills, listen up! A lot of people are scared of Yoga. They see it as some ancient Eastern art form that only the spiritually gifted can perform. If you fall into this category, please read on. There is no need for you to climb a mountain or walk across a desert if you want to practice Yoga. In fact, this technique is becoming extremely popular now. You basically have two different ways of practicing this ancient art - On your own or in a group.

If you are a bit of loner or just don’t have the time to take a class, don’t worry. There are so many resources available online or at your library to help you get started with Yoga. Just look for something along the lines of “Yoga For Beginners”. I’m sure you’ll find what you need.

Ideally, though, Yoga is practiced in a group. There is something to be said for leaving your home and going to place specifically designed to help you relax and deal with the depression that you’re experiencing. Finding a yoga class that is right for you is also pretty straightforward. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, chances are there a number of different yoga studios in your neighborhood. Just pick up the yellow pages and flip to the “Y” section. I’m sure you’ll find what you need.

James Wikman knows a lot about how to deal with anxiety. Read his article on coping with depression for more information.

I the dieting world there are numerous myths that get dispersed and eventually pas as utter truths. There are dieting and eating myths that won’t hurt you at all while there are others that can put your health in danger. You just have to be careful. Here are 5 of the most widespread dieting myths and the truth about them:

1) There are less calories in virgin olive oil than in any other cooking oil: far from being accurate. Olive, sunflower seeds, nuts, peanut, corn oil and all oils contain almost the equivalent number of calories regardless form what they are made. Virgin olive oil contains approximately 900 calories and it is made totally of fats. But virgin olive oil is much more nourishing than any other cooking oil you can ever use. It helps reduce the amount of unhealthy cholesterol form your body while keeping the good cholesterol level at a good for you level.. If you have a bad smelling mouth, gum problems and not so white teeth you can take a spoon of olive oil and keep it in your mouth to fix those problems. It works super well. You must try it.

2) The peel of a fruit is the part that is richest in vitamins: many say that if you throw the peel away you throw away all the vitamins form the fruit also. In fact the majority of the vitamins and minerals found in fruits are in the fleshy tissue of the fruit not in the peel.. This doesn’t mean you don’t waste precious minerals and vitamins if you throw away the peel.The fibers found in the skin help your digestive system work better and put a stop to constipation.

3)Salt makes you obese: Salt doesn’t make you fatter it just help your body hold more water which makes you look fatter. On average you are eating about 10 grams of salt every day but your body only needs only 4 grams of salt per day. All those highly processed foods contain heaps of salt. Only 2 grams of salt form the 10 grams you usually eat daily come form the food you cook at home. Now you don’t need to stop eating anything salty. Your body needs salt to function properly and it has its own means of getting rid of all the excess salt you give it. If you eat salty foods you feel the need to drink lots of water. All that water helps you eliminate the excess salt found in your body without making you fatter. So salt is nonfattening.

4) The best source of vitamin C are lemons:From 100 grams of lemons you can get approximately 75 mg of vitamin C but there are vegetables and fruits that contain even more vitamin C. Some of them are cabbage, dill, blackberries and much more… Rose hips contain the biggest quantity of vitamin C, especially their pulp which contains more than 200mg of vitamin C per 100 grams. Related to this myth is the belief that sour green fruits are rich in vitamin C. The truth is that the fruits that get heaps of sun exposure and are ripened and sweet contain much more vitamin C than green sour fruits.

5) Butter has more calories than margarine:if you are on a diet you should avoid eating them both.The truth is that 100 grams of butter or margarine both have about 360 calories. There is almost no difference when it comes to the amount of calories. The difference is the quality of the fats they contain. Margarine contains vegetal unsaturated fats which are unhealthy while butter contains only saturated good for your health fats. Saturated fats are more easily assimilated by your body. If you like margarine you can still eat it because it has the same amount of calories as butter.

So you have an idea what one of the symptoms of candidiasis is… that darn deep itch that just drives you mad? Well, here are a few more that you may not realise are caused by your not-so friendly fungi.

Thrush, candidia, candidiasis, yeast infection. Whatever you call it it’s darn annoying in the least - crippling at it’s worst.You know the most common symptom, that accursed itch, but did you know that there are other signs too?

Candidiasis causes trouble in three notable ways by affecting the;

* skin,
* mucus membranes
* internal organs.

A fungal infection on the skin can be superficial, easily treated but no less annoying.

A rash in damp, dark places or in folds of skin for example - under the armpits, under breasts, behind the knees, between toes and in nailbeds. Diaper rash is also caused by one of the candida fungi family - as is ‘ringworm’. Tinea and Jock itch are others. The rash is usually itchy and may be painful.

Because fungi love damp, dark places the mucus membranes are a fungi heaven!

Whether in the mouth or down in the nether regions, candidiasis in these areas should be taken seriously and treated promptly but carefully as these are prime sites for the infection to move internally from.

Symptoms of an oral yeast infection include;

White patches on the cheeks and tongue, even in between dentures! (how cheeky is that?) The skin may bleed when the white growth is scrapped off. Infants in particular are prone to this and care should be taken when breastfeeding as it is easily transmitted from mother to baby.

One of the worst and some would say most cruel symptom of candidiasis is when it affects the sexual organs.

Infections in the vagina and on the penis cause; a white discharge (often described as ‘cottage cheese’) that itches and burns like nothing on earth and irritates the entire area. There may also be pain with sex and/or burning when peeing. In extreme cases small blisters may appear on the affected area.

Often there can be no symptoms, which is kind of scary because you may not even realise that these guys have attacked until they have moved into a secondary infection.

When the internal organs and systems are affected there is a list of symptoms that is both vague and varied.

From a yeast infection in the esophagus causing ulcers throughout the digestive tract, to full on clinical systemic infection (like fevers, nausea or rapidly spreading rash) to more subtle symptoms like joint pain, fatigue or migraines. Cadidiasis may be attributed to them all.
